The short answer: 12 pieces, three jobs
A capsule wardrobe for Indian men needs pieces for three jobs: hot days, mixed days and cool evenings. This list has six light layers, three mid-weight pieces, two warm layers and a cap, all in six permanent colours, all from real EKVAAR products. Twelve pieces cost ₹11,088 in total, and nothing here goes out of style.
The idea behind a capsule wardrobe is simple. You do not need more clothes; you need clothes that talk to each other. When every piece is black, white, blue, green or one dash of red, any top works with any bottom, and getting dressed stops being a decision.
The colours below are Noor Black, Rui White, Agni Red, Neel Blue and Arav Green. Gulabi Pink is left out of the men’s edit only to keep the palette quiet; you can swap it in on several pieces. More on why these colours mix so easily is in our guide to the six-colour system.

You can build this capsule wardrobe in stages. Start with the first six rows, which cost far less, and add the warm layers before the cooler months.
Hot days: the six light layers
Summer in most Indian cities is long, so more than half this capsule wardrobe is light. The CORE Crew Tee is a 180 GSM cotton crew, described as mid-weight and soft from the first wear. GSM means grams per square metre: a higher number means heavier cloth. At 180, it is a comfortable everyday weight rather than a heavy one.
The CORE Sleeveless Tee is also 180 GSM cotton, described as light and breathable. It works alone at home and under an open shirt outside. The CORE V-Neck Tee in Agni Red is your one loud piece, and even then it is a deep red, not a bright one.
For office days, the CORE Piqué Polo is a 220 GSM cotton piqué with a structured ribbed collar and cuffs. Piqué is a textured weave that holds shape better than flat jersey. Neel Blue is a very dark blue that reads almost like a soft black, which makes it easy to wear with trousers or shorts.
The FORM Oversized Tee is a heavyweight 240 GSM cotton tee with dropped shoulders and extended length. It is the weekend piece. The EASE Oversized Shirt is a soft cotton shirt with a clean collar and button front, worn closed or open over any tee.

Mixed days: bottoms and long sleeves
Two bottoms is enough in a capsule wardrobe because the colours are so flexible. The LOOP Shorts are soft French terry with an elastic drawstring waist and side pockets, made for slow days. The EASE Joggers are a relaxed cotton jogger with a tapered leg and ribbed waist and cuffs, in Arav Green. The green is dark, so it behaves like a neutral.
The CORE Long Sleeve Tee in Arav Green sits between seasons: 180 GSM cotton with a clean crew neck. It is what you wear when the morning is cool and the afternoon is not.

Cool evenings, plus the cap
The SIGNATURE Sweatshirt is a 300 GSM cotton fleece crew with ribbed collar, cuffs and hem. The ORIGINAL Hoodie is a 300 GSM brushed cotton fleece with a lined hood and front pouch pocket. Both are unisex regular fit. Together they cover air-conditioned rooms, night rides and the few weeks of real winter most of India sees.
If you live somewhere colder, our guide on what to wear in a Bengaluru, Delhi and Pune winter covers the extra layers.
The twelfth piece of the capsule wardrobe is the Signature Cap, a structured cotton drill cap with the EKVAAR emblem embroidered at the front and an adjustable strap. It finishes an outfit and covers a bad hair day.
Nine capsule wardrobe outfits from twelve pieces
- Rui White Crew Tee, Noor Black Loop Shorts, Rui White Cap.
- Neel Blue Polo, Arav Green Joggers.
- Rui White Shirt open over the Noor Black Sleeveless Tee, Loop Shorts.

That is nine outfits without repeating a top-and-bottom pair, and you can extend it by changing which layer goes on top.
Why we suggest buying fewer, better pieces
A capsule wardrobe like this only works if the pieces last. That is why fabric weight and blend matter more than the print. Each EKVAAR piece is made to order in India, made when you reserve, so nothing is sitting in a warehouse waiting for you. If you want to know how that works, read made to order in India.
Shipping is free across India, and because nothing is made ahead, you can build the list in one order or in three.
What to do when a piece wears out
A capsule wardrobe works because each piece is worn often, so the heavy-rotation items will age first. That is normal. Replace one piece at a time and keep the colour, so the palette stays whole. The tees and the hoodie will do the most work, so wash them gently; our guide on how to wash a hoodie applies to every fleece piece here.
It also helps to decide what you will not add. If a new piece does not work with at least three things you already own, it is probably not for this capsule wardrobe. That single test saves more money than any list.
Finally, do not rush to complete all twelve pieces of the capsule wardrobe. Wear the first three pieces for a few weeks and notice what you reach for. The gaps will show themselves, and the last few purchases will be the most accurate ones.
FAQs
Can a twelve-piece capsule wardrobe really cover a full year?
In most Indian cities, yes, if you count layers properly. Six pieces handle warm weather, three handle mixed days, and two handle cool mornings and evenings, with a cap to finish. Very cold places may need an outer layer we do not make.
Why are most pieces black, white or blue?
These colours match with almost everything, so each new piece works with several you already own. Red and green stay as small accents so the wardrobe never feels loud.
Are the pieces in this list available in other colours?
Each piece is shown in one of the colours it is sold in. Check the product page for the full set, but the six-colour system keeps every option easy to mix.
How do I choose sizes for these pieces?
If you are between sizes, think about the fit you want: the oversized pieces are cut roomy, so many people stay with their usual size. Use the size guide on each product page.
