How to read the bomber jacket size chart
Both numbers are taken from the finished bomber jacket. Chest is the full distance around it, so double a flat measurement across the front. Length runs from the highest point of the shoulder to the bottom hem.
The steps are even across nine sizes: 2 inches of chest and 1 inch of length each time. An XS bomber jacket measures 38 by 26 inches, a medium 42 by 28, and a 5XL 54 by 34.

What the ribbed hem and cuffs change
The fit note describes a regular bomber fit with a ribbed hem and cuffs. Rib gathers the jacket in at the waist and wrist, so the body blouses slightly above the hem. That is why length matters as much as chest on a bomber jacket: check the length against a jacket you own, so the rib lands where you like it.
Bomber or varsity?
Our varsity jacket size chart shares the same chest numbers from XS to 3XL, but the bomber runs 1 inch longer in each of those sizes: a medium is 42 by 28 inches here and 42 by 27 there. The bomber chart also goes up to 5XL, where the varsity chart stops at 3XL.

Measure a jacket you already own
- Close it and lay it flat on a table.
- Measure across the chest, just below the armholes, and double the number.
- Measure from the highest point of the shoulder down to the bottom of the rib.
- Compare both numbers with the chart and pick the closest row.
Layering underneath
A medium regular T-shirt in our charts measures 40 inches around the chest; a medium bomber jacket measures 42. That leaves room for a tee or a light layer. A medium in our hoodie & sweatshirt chart also measures 42 inches, so a fleece layer under a bomber of the same size will be close. Compare before you choose, and remember that measurements may vary by ±0.5 inch.

Choosing between two sizes
Between sizes? Look at the length first, then the chest. A sweatshirt underneath needs the larger size; a neat line over a T-shirt suits the smaller. There is no universal rule, because fit varies by piece. For the jacket’s background, the flight jacket article on Wikipedia covers where the bomber comes from.

Before you reserve
The size guide beside the size options on each product page takes precedence over this general bomber jacket chart. Every piece is made in India for you once you reserve it, and wrong-size selections can’t be exchanged, so send questions to info@ekvaar.com. Each measurement is explained in our size & fit guide, and our note on layering for air-conditioned offices has more on wearing layers.
