Why the PATANG cap carries two kites on one string

On Uttarayan, the sky over Indian rooftops fills with kites. Families climb up early, strings are checked, and for a day the whole city looks up. The PATANG cap holds that image in one small embroidery: two kites joined by one string, stitched on the front of a clean Rui White cap. Patang is the Hindi word for kite, and the design is a small reminder of one of India’s most joyful days.

The design: two kites, embroidered

The kites are machine-embroidered on the front panel. Embroidery gives them a slight raised texture and keeps the lines clean, and the single connecting string ties the two shapes into one picture. Uttarayan is the name used in Gujarat and beyond for the festival also known as Makar Sankranti, when kite flying fills the sky. The PATANG cap belongs to the Origins house of the EKVAAR House of Originals.

The material: 280 GSM cotton drill

The PATANG cap is made from cotton drill at 280 GSM. Drill is a sturdy, tightly woven cotton with a fine diagonal texture, which is why it is a favourite for caps: it holds a crisp crown, takes embroidery well and still breathes on a warm day.

Fit: adjustable baseball cap, one size

The PATANG cap is an adjustable baseball cap in one size. Set the strap for a close fit or loosen it for a relaxed one. It is easy to share and an easy gift, because there is no size to guess, and the curved peak gives useful shade on bright days.

One colour: Rui White

The cap comes in Rui White. The light base lets the embroidered kites stand out and keeps the cap fresh with almost any outfit, from a plain Noor Black tee to a printed Street piece.

How to wear the PATANG cap

Wear it with a plain tee or hoodie; the CORE crew tee and the CORE pullover hoodie are clean matches. It also pairs with any Street piece; try it with the HOSTILU oversized tee for a look built on Indian stories. On festival days, it is a natural choice for the rooftop, keeping the January sun out of your eyes while you watch the sky.

Why a festival on a cap

Most caps carry a logo. The PATANG cap carries a memory: early mornings on the terrace, tangled string, the shout when a kite is cut. It is a small design that many people recognise instantly, and it keeps the feeling of Uttarayan with you through the year.

Who it is for

The PATANG cap is for anyone who loves kite season, for people from Gujarat and Rajasthan where Uttarayan is celebrated with great energy, and for anyone who likes accessories with a story. It works for everyday wear in the sun.

A simple gift

Because it is one size and carries a joyful, familiar image, the PATANG cap is an easy gift for friends and family, especially around January when the kites come out.

Care

Spot clean only. Treat marks gently with a damp cloth and let the cap dry in its natural shape, away from direct heat, so the crown and the embroidery keep their form.

Made in India, made for you

Every PATANG cap is made in India only after you reserve it. No unsold stock and no waste: it is made for you. Reserve yours above.
